Prayers and Upcoming Events At Faith UMC 2/9/2026

Prayers

Prayers of strength, comfort, and healing for Ruth Briggs, recovering from a stroke last week. She is currently at Corewell Health, being moved to Heritage Healthcare Rehabilitation Center

in Taylor this week.

Prayers of strength, comfort, and healing for Patty Harkiewicz's brother, Gary Haskin, who was just diagnosed yesterday with bone marrow cancer, which can potentially develop into an aggressive leukemia. He is currently at low risk for progression, but that can change at any time. He will be monitored with blood tests going forward.

ChristNet Reminder

ChristNet at Faith UMC begins in THREE weeks from this Sunday, on March 1st. We will host 26-28 individuals who, without ChristNet, would be without nighttime shelter, trying to sleep in tents, cars, or walking all night in the extremely cold weather. This is a local mission of love and compassion that you can experience right here at home.

There is something everyone can do – help with dinners, evening and overnight hosts, lead guest activities, early morning breakfasts, donate supplies, set up, take down, and more. Please check out the ChristNet table in the lobby and add your name! ChristNet has always been a busy week at Faith, filled with love, hope, joy, caring, and laughter. It Takes a Village! Please join us.

Faithful Readers February 10th

Please join the UMW Faithful Readers Winter series on the February 10th session to review Adapting to Love. The book is Our Souls at Night by Kent Haruf.

Bible Study

Pastor Gay is moving the Wednesday Bible Study to the parlor at 2 pm. Please read chapters 7 and 8th.

Chosen Bible Study

Please join Pastor Gay on Wednesday in the parlor at 3:30 pm. The cost of the book is $15.00.

Beta Classes

Please join Pastor Gay on Sundays, February 8th to the 22nd at 11:30 am to 12:30 for Beta Classes after the service. Please bring a snack to share.

Lent Services 2026

With the holy season of Lent about to begin, we would like to share some opportunities for Ash Wednesday, February 18th, in Compton Hall.

The Day will begin at 9:30 am with a light breackfas and communion sponsored by the UMW. ALL ARE WELCOME

From 12 pm until 1:00 pm drive by ashes will be offered in the church parking lot. All denominations are welcome.

From 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm the sanctuary will be open for Communion and imposition of ashes and a time for personal meditation.

We hope to see you at one or more of these events!

Phyllis Weaver Memorial Service

Join us in honoring Phylis Weaver, a dedicated member of our Faith UMC church family. Phyllis will be remembered for her profound love, steadfast support, and vibrant spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her.

Phyllis Ann Weaver, born on March 14, 1934, in Monroe, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, at Michigan House Senior Living in Riverview, Michigan.

Friends and family are invited to honor Phyllis's memory during a Memorial Gathering on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 AM, both at The Trenton Chapel - Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, 3200 West Rd, Trenton.

Memorial contributions to honor Phyllis's life may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 2530 Charlton, Trenton, MI 48183.
